WARRANTY

This warranty applies to all new and remanufactured engine parts applicable to John Deere® Engines marketed by RELIANCE PARTS CORPORATION (RPC unless specifically excluded below).

New and Remanufactured RPC Replacement Parts are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service.

The warranty applies to all owners in the chain of distribution, and coverage continues to all subsequent owners until the end of coverage.

RPC replacement parts for John Deere® Diesel Engines are covered for one year from date of installation. There is no limitation on the number of hours of operation within the one year period.

RPC will pay for all parts needed to repair the warrantable failure to the functional condition existing immediately prior to the failure including progressive damage to the engine in which the part was installed.

RPC will also include labor costs providing the original repair and subsequent warranty repair work was performed by an authorized Reliance Distributor or Dealer.

Labor costs will be paid in accordance with published labor rates and at no more than published flat rate times. No overtime or holiday rates will be allowed. Only new or rebuilt RPC or RPC approved parts will be used in making the repair.

RPC will pay for the lubricating oil, anti-freeze, filter elements, belts, hoses and other maintenance items that are not reusable due to the warrantable failure.

When repairs are performed by an authorized Distributor or Dealer, RPC will pay reasonable labor cost for removal and reinstallation when necessary to make the repair.

The engine owner is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the engine as specified in the Operating and Maintenance Manuals. Before expiration of the applicable warranty, the owner must give notice to an authorized RPC Distributor or Dealer location to be considered warrantable.

It is the claimant’s responsibility to provide failed and associated parts for examination by RPC technical staff, in a condition that makes such examination possible.

The owner must deliver the engine to the repair location. In the event of any marine engine failure, the owner is responsible for the cost of towing the boat to a repair dock, and for any associated docking and harbor charges.

The owner is responsible for the cost of all repairs made to items other than the engine in which the parts are installed. The owner is responsible for the cost of lubricating oil, anti-freeze, filter elements, belts, hoses and other maintenance items replaced during warranty repairs, except where such items are not reusable due to warranty failure.

The owner is responsible for lodging, meals, and incidental costs incurred by the owners, or agents of the owner, as a result of a warrantable failure. The owner is responsible for “down time” expenses and all business losses resulting from a warrantable failure.

RPC is not responsible for failures resulting from owner or operator abuse or neglect, such as operation without adequate coolant, fuel or lubricants, over fueling, over speeding, lack of maintenance of lubricating, coolant or air intake systems, improper storage, starting, warm-up, runin or shut-down practices.

RPC is not responsible for failure resulting from improper repair or installation or use of parts not approved by RPC.

The warranties set forth herein are the sole warranties made by RPC in regard to its parts. RPC makes no other warranties, expressed or implied, of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
