4.5 AND 6.8 POWER TECH

UNDERHAUL AND OVERHAUL KITS

 

 

Reliance Parts Corporation is pleased to announce the addition of engine underhaul and overhaul kits for 4.5 and 6.8 Power Tech engines.
These engines are also referred to as 350 Series Engines. Since their displacement is the same as 4.5 and 6.8 litre

engines, they are easily confused. When accepting orders from customers for 4.5 and 6.8 litre engines, it is important to know whether

the engines are 300 Series Litre engines or 350 Series Power Tech engines.

For both the 4.5 and 6.8 litre Power Tech engines, Deere produced naturally aspirated, turbocharged and high horsepower turbocharged versions. Piston marking, connecting rod marking, piston pin diameter, or serial number can differentiate these engines. Since there is only one cylinder kit for naturally aspirated engines, there is less possibility for error. For turbocharged engines, knowing the connecting rod forging number, piston part number, or piston pin diameter is the best way to determine the correct parts.

For each of the engines, there are two possible connecting rods. In order to provide the correct connecting rod capscrews, you must know which connecting rod is installed in the engine being repaired.

Because of the crankshaft design, we do not offer as many under size bearing as are offered for other engines. Be sure to inform customers of this before they grind the crankshaft. These underhaul and overhaul kits are available with standard and .010 (.254mm) undersize bearings only. When ordering the .010 (.254mm) undersize underhaul and overhaul kits, indicate with "-10" after the kit part number.
