ENGINE BREAK-IN OIL NTY-22041

Newly overhauled engines should be filled with Engine Break-in Oil NTY-22041 to assure proper break-in. Just as with a new engine, a major overhaul of an engine incorporates the same critical parts that require proper break-in.

Do not use engine oil meeting API CG4, API C4F, ACEA E3, ACEA E2, or CCMC D5 performance standards during the first 100 hours of engine operation. This includes the John Deere Plus-50 Torq-Gard oil. These oils will prevent proper engine break-in because they are simply too “slick” and will prevent proper piston ring to liner sealing.

Run the engine at normal operating levels during the first 100 hours of operation. The break-in oil should be drained at this time and the oil filter should be changed. Do not extend the 100-hour drain interval.

After break-in, use premium quality lubricating oil for diesel engines.
